Big Sean Plays Principal for a Day

Detroit MC Big Sean did a G.O.O.D. deed by playing principal for a day at Bates Academy. The middle school won Detroit’s Attendance Challenge contest from Viacom and the #GetSchooled Movement, a non-profit organization that uses the media and messengers of pop culture to inspire and motivate kids and teens on their educational journey through middle and high school as they enter into higher education.

“It’s just cool to come back and just see the kids so excited and it all be for a good cause,” said Sean. During a Q&A session with MTV’s Sway, he dropped some bars for a freestyle and also offered advice about studying. “The best way to study is with your homies,” he said. “If you got some dumb friends, don’t study with them.”

This is a very unique article with a lot of the stuff that makes education interesting. I love this writer’s ability to keep young people engaged. The aren’t a lot of journalists or reporters that have that knack. Great to see! Keep up the good work!
